April 30th Our 2nd last week of the module, at this point throughout the Easter break our team, the green team had texted every now and again keeping updated on what we have done. Asking one another to look at the slides as we could all see the progress made and adding too and removing some parts that we felt needed adjustments. We had no further plans as a team other than on the day, to read out what were going to say quickly and glance over everything half an hour before. Our whatsapp groupchat i feel really saved us a lot of time as we could read articles on our phone and just send it on through the app as we went along with our days in quarantine. I was extremely busy in work which i certainly had not planned and had missed a few classes. I ended up working 22 days straight which is obviously very illegal but i kept the whole place up and running and got many praise for it but at the expense of a vital part of my education which, im not gonna lie, im pretty annoyed about. But anywa
Week 8 2nd April Classic Neil fashion my Ethernet connection was super bad that day, i arrived very unprepared for class and I was already behind being about 20 minutes late. Reading the ideologies of Omelas it was very much alike George Orwell 1984 the book i had studied for my leaving cert. The idea of a dystopian future as i didn't see much utopia about it all to be honest. There was a very simplified lifestyle within the short story and i found parts of it hard to follow as it jumped from one place to another but maybe thats just my poor reading skills or lack of. The idea of ones happiness sacrificed for the happiness of everyone else can once again be linked back to social media. Being that everyone say in a group is percieved as happy but in reality one may suffer through harsh jokes or being left out for the better of others.  I think maybe the state of social media and cyberbullying back in 2013 could have related but not in 2020 to be quite honest.

Week 7  Lauks Nest A once thriving community we explored a tropical island that had swapped owners various times and was now just a derelict island that was just as beautiful although with no actual online presence. This was a sad site to behold as the effort of making the majority of the furniture and small details in the nooks and crannies was made in blender. All this effort and actual real world money for it to be nothing but a history site for our characters to roam freely and even fly around which had surprised me as not many regions allow flight. I later watched 8 and 9 year old videos of this area that were on youtube. The place back then and second life too was very different. The graphics capicity of computers back then were far different then now. Also i should mention i got a new computer that i thought would run second life better but only through mods will the game actually be optimized for newer generation PCs :(
Week 6 19th March Speaking about the self and personas really tied into what i was leaning about in Sculpture with Mick and Barb. Expanding on the points to the online realm was fun, I was fully aware of having different personas online such as Instagram being all about the social life and showing off your 'lifestyle'. Facebook is very formal and only shows achievements every now and again such as a degree or a  new job. Expressing yourself based of the  achievements looked at by older generations and also people who would hire you. But in the class we spoke about how you have a core persona that you either add or remove certain aspects of that for your workplace or around your family which i found very interesting and was a lot different than what we spoke about in Sculpture.  Moving forwards, Is it lying? this core persona is either lying to oneself being honest and dishonest to certain degrees. This then played part in the 9 team roles depending on personas with interests an
May 7th Our presentation. I thought our presentation on renewable energy and cutting company costs went very well. We were criticized on calling out who is going to read what slides and i felt i could've focused on my  breathing more as i found myself stammering and stumbling my words and losing where i was in my notes. The other teams i felt had stronger points and was very pretty and layed out clearly. i felt my section of the presentation was very messy and i could've worked o it more to clean it up. It was strange presenting on-front of a virtual class as i was staring into the polygon eyes of the others rather than the pores faces. Still feeling nervous and having to project your voice clearly into my mic was something i still have to work on. With this whole Covid 19 thing going on maybe in the future i will have a lot more class presentations online in September but we have to wait and see what the near semester brings. This now concludes the end of the vlog although its
Second Life Week 4 March 12th Our group project towards and unnamed company was initially going towards BP or British pertolium but this was changed later on. Myself, Auki and Zach had now made a whatsapp groupchat were we began our google slide and had yet to compile our slides together. Instead throughout the weeks to come we sent in articles that we could maybe rob some snippets of info for our notes under our slide. We seldom used second life for talking as using our phones was just as handy and it meant weren't tied to our laptops and computers. we knew our general layout was going to be that all of us were going to split the slides equally and we all covered separate parts of the same topic
Second Life Week 3 March 6th We did not talk much at the first meeting i only got in contact with Auki after class had ended and i got his email for college so we could sent on some easier contact details such as numbers so that we could create a whatsapp group chat. Sitearms detailed analysis of teamwork and the foundations was very full on. At first i wasn't sure where he was going with it all and then breaking it down i can see why his level and stratified work ethic can be applied not only to large scale company groups but also our small team of three. using second lifes camera view was a change as it set us in his lecture and then being able to free cam over the slides made it easier to follow as the walking in second life it very clunky.
